what is ceramic coating?
For all the car enthusiasts out there we love ceramic coating, but what really is it and what does it do for your car? Ceramic coating is basically a thin layer of protection on your clear coat, like putting an invisible blanket over your vehicle. It protects your paint from UV damage, most swirls and hazing, water stains, road grime & many more!
If you live in a dirty area like Tillsonburg you know how many times you need to wash your vehicle to keep it up to you and your partners standards. Well, say you wash your car 8 times a year, chop that down to 4 and on top of that we completely do a free exterior detail every 3 months.
When you get a ceramic coating with us you not only have a much more maintable and easily presentable vehicle for a couple bucks more a year, you have car professionals keeping you up to date with your vehicles needs and details.
what does polishing have to do with this?
Paint correction aka polishing is needed before ceramic coating a surface. Your car has many contaminants on the paint and swirls, etching etc which needs to be removed before the coating because the coating is designed to bond to the surface and protect it, so if you don't properly polish it with all the steps first your car will look like a glossy mess...
So what's the difference between the stage 1 and stage 2 correction and what's their importance to ceramic coating? Well we offer both at different price points because a every day ride will have more imperfections and needs more love to get it to our standards, ultimately ensuring the most satisfaction out of your purchase. Compared to a car just off the lot, the everyday ride needs more work done.
When you get a new vehicle you naturally assume the paint is brand-new. It should be, but in most cases if you take a light to it you'll see many imperfections that need to be removed for the coating to properly bond.
what's a 1 & 2 step correction?
A 1-step correction at lv's is going over all paint surfaces with a DA polisher using 1 of 8 different aggresive to non-aggresive pads using a CUTTING AND FINISHING COMPOUND from 3D,
A 2-step correction is more time inclined and precise targeting imperfections with proper heat control. We start with a rotary polisher and 1 of 8 different aggresive to non-aggresive pads using either the CUTTING AND FINISHING COMPOUND from 3D or the ACA 500 X-TRA CUT COMPOUND from 3D. After we will move to the DA polisher for the finishing steps and use a non aggresive foam pad with the AAT 505 CORRECTION GLAZE from 3D going over all the paint from roof to heel again.
